Verdsta Shopping District is an old street-styled shopping mall located in north Les Vincennes Bay. The mall houses a few large stores, the majority being flagship stores.

History

The original concept was to have a Harrods-styled shopping centre in this location. Due to its narrow location, several reconstructions occurred. Eventually, its facade was imported from the old Gothic structure prototype built by quarxilon (hi shoutout to you). Two separate flanks were proposed on the main vertical structure. This was reduced to 1 due to practicality and unstable ground below the Circular Line.

The current structure was completed in 2018, with all shops moving in by the same year. An additional lift and staircase access was added in early 2019.

Location and Architecture

This shopping "district" is next to the Gardellia Circular Line, with the Verdsta Marketplace to the east. It is right at the border with Ipswich Garden City, and is served by the Verdsta Market bus stop.

The mall is mainly comprised of gothic architecture, with the gothic spires added on a later period in 2019. Chandeliers fill the void ceiling, which are to be renovated at a later date. Shops are also decorated in traditional styles, with the Hudson Restaurant being the most notable. Apia Bar + Kitchen has modern interiors in Kiribati style.

Alternate History

This mall was conspired to be constructed instead in 1932 by a group of aristocrats in early settlements of Les Vincennes. The mall was the most prosperous, but all was ended by the toga war (lol). Restoration works happened between 2017 and 2019.

Due to safety issues and to respect spirits in the nearby cemetery, the mall has peculiar service hours:
