The WolvHaven Metropolitan Train Network (WolvHaven Metro) is a rapid transit system serving New Wolfminster. The system serves 10 stations along four routes on 13.1km of track. The system is owned by Transport for WolvHaven and is operated by the Société Métropolitaine et Régionale des Transports (SMRT) and its services are designated using the letter T, denoting 'Train'. The initial system is scheduled to open in stages from 2023.

History

Planning for the Metro system began since the inception of WolvHaven City's 5th rendition - New Wolfminster. However, development of the system was delayed for three years to allow for the foundation of the city to be laid so that the Metro System was not the primary focus. The delay meant that the system was able to adopt New Model Technology for its trains, avoiding many of the design constraints such as steep gradients and tight curves that would have been introduced had the system been developed around the traditional minecart system.

It was also made clear from the beginning that the system would be designed to be convertible to be used with the Realistic Train Mod (RTM) should the server intend to release the world in the future for players.

Unlike the WolvHaven Metro (4th Haven) which was heavily based off the Paris Metro with high station and line density, the new Metro system was conceptualised to be a heavy-rail commuter-metro system with much wider station spacing, and fewer lines. This was criticised by some as New Wolfminster was over 10 times the size of its predecessor, and was addressed with the consideration of the construction of several Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines where needed.

Lines

A total of 4 lines are currently planned for the Metro System. They follow the corresponding colours of the WolvHaven Metro (4th Haven) as a tribute to it, continuing the accidental coincidence that the colours are the same as those of billard balls.

City Loop

The CIty Loop is a U-Shaped tunnel that connects three of the islands within the Wolfminster borough. Similar to the Sydney City Circle and Melbourne's City Loop; WolvHaven's City loop connects Wolfminster Island, Merchant's Island and Capitol Island. Twin-bored tunnels were constructed by GukkyGukz.

The loop comprises of 8 stations - La Resistance, Bonaventure, An Unnamed station, Haymarket, Exchange Place, City Hall, Parliament Square and Lower West End. Of the 8 stations, 3 of them were selected as a result of a design competition that was called for City Hall.

The City Hall station was designed by Wilhelm59 and pays homage to the original City Hall station of the 4th Haven Metro system, which in turn paid homage to the station from 3rd Haven.

Parliament Square station was designed by bokbokobma, and the Lower West End station was designed by GravityDuke. Both are heavily inspired by stations on the Moscow Metro.
