Vision 2023 is a strategic framework introduced in late 2021, to be completed by 2023 to shift the WolvHaven server from a mixed survival-roleplay creative server to a creative-focused server. Key goals included reducing the complexity of the server experience, and further accelerated development of WolvHaven City's fifth iteration - New Wolfminster. Vision 2023 marks the largest change in the server since its inception; departing from its traditional mixed survival-roleplay and creative structure.

Ultimately, it was to convert the server to attract a more generic audience, in light of competition from other games such as Roblox for the server's niche transit enthusiast player base.

Key changes

Creative to be the main gamemode

Pointing to the complexity and administrative burden involved in maintaining the server's mixed survival-roleplay and creative experiences, the server had its main game mode switched to creative from survival. This was to make it more obvious to newcomers that WolvHaven is a creative server, and further remove any overlapping plugin complications arising from ensuring fair survival play.

This change was originally suggested by minebuilder1223 back in 2019, but was shut down as SilverWolv did not like the idea. However, with the development of New Wolfminster (5th Haven) picking up, it presented the opportunity to use the switch over to the new world as a new clean slate for the transition to take place.

5th Haven to replace 4th Haven

When key infrastructure projects such as the initial WolvHaven Metro (5th Haven) are complete, 5th Haven would be ready to replace its predecessor, and allowing for simultaneous development of various areas to further accelerate the development of the world.
